Andrea Thain MEd, RCC, CCC
Andrea moved the Cariboo in 2008 after completing her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria. For the past 14 years she has supported children, youth and families as a counsellor in school and community settings. Andrea is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Andrea believes all people, big and little, have the capacity to heal within themselves. Counselling provides a safe space for people to strengthen this connection to self, integrate difficult life experiences and learn skills for healthy relationships with others.
Andrea utilizes expressive Play Therapy in her work with children and a Person-Centered approach with all clients. Through EMDR, Andrea is also able to support clients in processing difficult experiences in an adaptive way in order to bring light to positive thoughts, feelings and beliefs.
Andrea has training and experience working with a range of challenges including anxiety & depression, trauma, grief & loss, and complex developmental & behavioral conditions.
